ZONAL CONFERENCE:
For the first time in the History of IMA TNSB Zonal Conferences were conducted in North , South, East ,West zone of IMA TNSB during 2002-2003 in which more Doctors participated, interacted among themselves and exchanged their views on various advancement in their field. Meritorious Service Awards were given for IMA Members.

DEAN :- INDIAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION COLLEGE OF GENERAL PRACTITIONERS

As a Dean of IMA he motivated many state Branches of IMA to organise Certificate Courses and Medical Update on Diabetolog, Family Medicine for General Practitioners.

BRITISH COUNCIL MEDICAL WEEK
Organised a medical week with the help of Indian Medical Association Tamilnadu State Branch and British Council Where in Continuous Medical Education programme was conducted for Doctors of chennai for one week.

MEDICAL INSTITUTION:
He is owning a 50 Bedded Multi Speciality Hospital at Tirupur and Practicing Internal Medicine including Cardiology and Diabetology for last 32 years.
TISSO (Tirupur Social Service Organisation) under his management, opened a Childeren’s Hospital (Tisso Hospital) at Tirupur in 1998 with Pediatrician, Qualified Staffs, Modern Equipments and 24 hours Ambulance service round the clock. He was instrumental in starting IMAYAM Cancer care Hospital at Erode in 2003

In 2009 he helped to organise IMA SAMBA Health Care Centre at Dindigul.

TRAUMA CARE:
He was the Pioneer who Evolved the concept of trauma care centres in National Highways to help road accident victims. 19 Trauma care centres were opened in national Highways to take care road accident victims through out the Dist. During 1999-2000. Held 5 Seminars on Trauma care and trained 6500 volunteers to take care accident victims and given first Aid Training. With the help of Government 11 Trauma care centers were started by private hospitals in the High Ways in Tamil Nadu during his IMA Presidentship.

Had saved two lives on one occasion and one life in another occasion who met with a Road accident and were bleeding profusely. 43 Ambulances were dedicated and Mr. AR Lakshmanan chief justice of Kerala was the Chief Guest.With the help of Government. 11 Trauma care centers were started by Private Hospitals in the High ways in Tamil Nadu during his IMA Presidentship

IMPORTANCE OF FIRST AID:
Organized camp for Scouts and Students where in demonstration and training about First Aid was given. As Chief Traffic Warden organized First Aid Training in the Schools and as a Rotary District Governor Trained Volunteers in variours towns and gave identity cards to volunteers to help Accident Victims. He has organized First Aid training through St. John Ambulance and Indian Red Cross Society.

NATIONAL MEDICO LEGAL CONFERENCE:
As a Organizing Chairman for National Medico Legal Conference organized 2 day workshop at chennai to discuss common medico legal problems in practice where in many lawyers and experts of decesherent field participated. The deliberations were guidelines to the practicing Doctors.

EDUCATION THRU’ MEDIA:
Delivered Lectures on various medical topics on 20 occasion in Doordharsan, Chennai and on 30 occasion in all india Radio Attemded many interview organised by SUN TV & RAJ TV. Organised a Pattimandram on AIDS and delivered lecture on Given Health tips in SUN T.V for 3 weeks continuously .“NALLA IRUKKENGALA” was a talk show organised and telecasted in Vijay TV continuously for 50 weeks which had a verygood reception among the TV viewers Attended many interviews organised by SUN TV & RAJ TV.

DRUG ABUSE:
Had given talk on Drug Abuse more than 20 times in schools, colleges, villages and in all India Radio Since 1982. Launched Drug Abuse prevention as a District Project during his tenure as Rotary Governor and held seminars and symposiums at various parts of the District.

NO SMOKING CAMPAIGN:
A Camp every year for 10 days at A.G. Hospital is being organised where people are made to stop smoking since 1983. III effects of smoking were screened on T.V People were made to understand how smoking affects their lung functions with the help of spirometry.

CONTROL OF FILARIASIS :
With the Guidance of the Government and assistance of IMA created awareness and given a talk about filarisis and distributed Diethyl Carbaximipine tablets in the endemic areas in Tamil Nadu.

MEDICAL EXHIBITION :
As an Organising Chairman along with Indian Medical association and Rotary club of Tirupur organised a 10 days medical exhibition at Tirupur and more than 10,000 people and students were given health education in 1990. A mega medical exhibition, Health Mela and Medical camp with various specialities were done at Tirupur for 7 days with the help of P.S.G Medical College, Perundurai Medical College and various specialities hospital of Coimbatore under his leadership in the year 1998-99 by which 20,000 people were Educated and benefitted

CONTRIBUTION in RESEARCH :
IMA Research wing has been formed to take up Research Pojects of Social relevance and relevance to IMA activities to create awareness on certain important medical issues like organ Donation. As a Convenor Organised a Camp and screening more than 6000 people for Diatbetes in 2009 along with TNIMA & TNAPI

IMAIGAL:
IMAIGAL , a monthly Tamil health magazine is being released every month in different places periodically for which he is the managing editor. Under his managing Editorial a tamil monthly health magazine in published in T.N in which he given very useful tips to the readers on health.

COMPUTER COURSE:
He has signed a MOU with Alagappa University to impart training on “Basics of Computer” to the members of IMA TNSB Given a talk on Role of IT in Health Care sponsored by Confederation of Indian Industry at Coimbatore

FAMILY:
Son of Late Mr. C S. Arumugam, Superintendent of Police. Happily married Dr. Bhanumathy, a Gynecologist. They were blessed with two daughters and both of them got married. His elder brother PADMASHRI Mr. A. Sakthivel is the Founder President of Ti rupur Exporters Association and also he was the chairman for Apparel Export Promotion Council. Now at Present The President for FIEO. His younger brother Lion Mr A. Sivakumar is the Assistant Commandant General in Chief for Home Guards , Tamil Nadu.
